NLSA provides legal assistance and representation to older adults (age 60 and above) who may be victims of physical, emotional or financial abuse through its Elderly Law Project. NLSA also assists in areas of special concern to the elderly such as living wills, health care planning and alternatives to guardianship. NLSA provides these services in part through special subcontracts with the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging, the Beaver County Office on Aging, the Butler County Area Agency on Aging and Lawrence County/Challenges: Options in Aging. In all four counties, NLSA represents elderly adults who are subjects of guardianship and/or protective services proceedings. Residents of Allegheny County can locate their local ELP service provider by area.
